Spanish low-cost airline Vueling plans to introduce a new seasonal route to Split in the 2026 summer season, writes Croatian aviation.
This is an additional strengthening of Split's air connection with the Spanish market, which has seen a steady growth in interest in the Croatian coast in recent years. Vueling will connect Bilbao and Split next summer!
Flights on the new route will begin on 16 June 2026 and will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays. The seasonal service will be available until 13 September 2026, covering the main part of the summer tourist season. The route is expected to be particularly attractive to passengers from the Basque Country, but also the wider region of northern Spain.
With the introduction of Bilbao, Split gains its third direct destination in Spain. With this new route, the city is already connected to Madrid and Barcelona. This further strengthens Split's position as one of the most important summer airports on the eastern Adriatic coast.
The new Bilbao – Split route represents a continuation of Vueling's strategy aimed at expanding its seasonal network towards popular Mediterranean destinations. At the same time, it contributes to the diversity of outbound markets for Croatian tourism and further increases the accessibility of Dalmatia to passengers from Western Europe. The route will be operated by A320 aircraft with a capacity of up to 180 passengers.
