Boban and Mihanović visited the construction works of the Health Center in Gomilica
Split-Dalmatia County Prefect Blaženko Boban, accompanied by the director of the Split-Dalmatia County Pharmacy, Ante Mihanović, and representatives of the Split-Dalmatia County Health Center, visited the construction works on the new Health Center building in Kaštel Gomilica.
The joint project of the Split-Dalmatia County Pharmacy and the Split-Dalmatia County Health Center includes a facility that will house the Health Center's offices and a pharmacy, thus improving the availability of primary health care for the residents of Kaštela and the surrounding area.
Completion of work on March 1st
The works were supposed to be completed in January of next year, but as County Prefect Boban told us, the works are expected to be completed on March 1st, so the first patients will not be admitted to the new clinic until before the summer, confirmed the director of the SDŽ Pharmacy, Ante Mihanović.
- I am very satisfied with the dynamics of the works. The deadline for completion is March 1. According to the contractor, the deadlines will be met, and the workers will work even during the holidays. The citizens of this part of Kaštela will get a state-of-the-art pharmacy, similar to the one in Solin, and 11 offices of various spectrums, including pediatrics, gynecology and dentistry. With 11 offices, we can call this health facility a real medical center that will be fully completed by this summer. The price for the works is around 1,4 million euros plus VAT, and there are also costs for equipment, with the pharmacy and the Health Center already prepared for these activities. The price is not so much the price; the deadlines are important and what the citizens of Kaštela will get. I would like to thank the director of the County Pharmacy, but also the Health Center, not only for this facility but also for a number of other facilities throughout the county, as well as for the adaptations, energy renovation and construction of new ones, like this one - said County Prefect Boban.

Robotic pharmacy
When it comes to the pharmacy, Director Mihanović said that the process of purchasing a robot is underway to perform logistics tasks; going to pick up medicine, storing it, and coming to pick up medicine, thus enabling employees to devote more time to patients.
- I am glad that we are here today together with our founder, County Prefect Blaženko Boban, to look at the works currently underway on this facility. As the County Prefect said, the works are worth around 1.4 million euros. Of course, after that comes the equipment. As for the pharmacy, we are already in the process of purchasing a robot, and we will also have an open main laboratory. We are developing the concept of a pharmacy that is open to patients and doctors in order to create individual therapies for our patients and thus raise the service to a higher level. I think that with this building, that is, with the Health Center and the pharmacy, the citizens of not only Kaštel Gomilica, but also all of Kaštel will get a representative facility. I believe that this is one of the more modern buildings of this type, both in terms of offices and the pharmacy. According to information from the Health Center, there will be internal medicine, pediatrics, general medicine and dentistry. So, a wide range of all services that are possible in medicine at the primary level of health care, but not only at the primary level but also considering the number of offices that the Health Center will have. As for the pharmacy, we are pleased that we will be able to do individual therapies because this is modern medicine in which each patient is approached individually - emphasized Mihanović.
The Health Center building will be a free-standing structure with a ground floor and one floor. The ground floor will house a pharmacy and a pediatric office, while the upper floor will house other offices. The main entrance will be on the south side. The ground floor will house a pharmacy with an office, laboratory, cloakroom and toilets, and a pediatric office with a waiting room, changing area, and isolation. Access to the pharmacy and office will be provided from multiple sides of the building.
