A performance "The Secret of Christmas Eve", a warm and instructive story about forgiveness and love, performed by the Mjesec theater from Zagreb delighted the audience this Saturday at the Cultural Center in Kaštel Lukšić.
The play "The Secret of Christmas Night" takes place on Christmas Eve in a barn where the characters Sheep, Donkey, Calf and Piglet are. Led by Sheep, the animals prepare for Christmas, look for a Christmas tree and sing Christmas carols. When they finally decide to take a break and eat something, they realize that Piglet has eaten all the food they have collected all year and they chase her out of the barn. While Piglet is being chased away, a woman with a child comes into the barn to warm herself and distributes food to the animals, which reminds them of Piglet, and they decide to take her back. Piglet apologizes, promises that from now on she will only eat her share of food, and the animals celebrate Christmas together in their barn.
Teatar Mjesec is a theater organization for children and adults founded in 2018 by the actress Antonije Sašo and playwrights Kristine Kegljen.
The theater's director, Antonia Šašo, pointed out that this play is about seven years old and has been performed many times before, and tonight was their last performance for this year. The expectations for the evening were fun and enjoyment for both the audience and the actors on stage.
Antonia continues about the preparations for the play:
- The play was made around 2018, and the preparations took about a month and a half. This is our first play in this theater and it is very dear to us, in fact one of our favorite. We did everything ourselves, from the texts to the set design, so this play is especially close to our hearts. This is our first time in Kaštel Lukšić and it was very nice.
The Cultural Center hall was filled with children and their parents, and throughout the entire performance there was no shortage of laughter and audience reactions to this humorous family play that talks about the power of love, family, and forgiveness.
