A lively debate at the County Assembly regarding the proposed Resolution on the railway connection of Sveti Jeronim Airport
At the County Assembly held yesterday, during the voting on the agenda, a heated discussion broke out regarding the last item on the agenda, due to the proposal of Arsen Bauk (SDP), who requested that the Assembly adopt a Resolution on the railway connection of Sveti Jeronim Airport.
Right at the start, Ante Sanader (HDZ) suggested on behalf of the Club that the item on the resolution be removed from the agenda, stating that it is not true that Kaštela is obstructing the construction of the railway to the airport, and then a discussion began. It was started by Bojan Ivošević (Center).
- This is not the first time you have removed this item from the agenda, but today we heard something new and I want it to be recorded in the media. No less, no more, Mr. Ante Sanadere publicly stated that the city of Kaštela did not, I repeat did not, in any way slow down, stop the plan to build a high-speed railway. You said it here today, as Mr. Ante Sanadere, who is very influential in the HDZ and knows what is happening. I do not know if anyone in this hall thinks that the media has not been following this topic for the last few years and that completely incorrect information has simply been presented. I ask the entire county to put this item back on the agenda, because you removed it before the debate on the agenda. Let us all agree that it is of vital importance for our county and that we agree with the Government that said it should be done. And let us send a critique to the city of Kaštela so that everything necessary for the implementation of the above is done in record time - said Ivošević.

Immediately afterwards, Sanader took the podium and responded sharply to Ivošević.
- Kaštela is not yours and you are not the sheriff in Kaštela. Kaštela is a city, autonomous, they have their own rights, jurisdictions and possibilities that they can allow or not. Why would you want to regulate Kaštela and determine where what will go, forget that story. Here you are trying to be the great powers of Split. Kaštela did not obstruct the railway at any moment, but they provided the best solutions that suit the citizens of Kaštela. 40 thousand inhabitants live in Kaštela and the fact that you would wipe them out, that you would not respect them, that is your style. That is how you did it in Split, that is obviously the way you function. Just as you demolished people's houses and cafes in Split, you would demolish houses and destroy their property in Kaštela.
HDZ councilor Igor Bosančić also spoke up, saying that the people of Kaštela do not want the railway ramp to be lowered and raised 50 times a day as trains pass by their houses, and that the people of Kaštela are not obstructing the construction of the railway, but are seeking the best solution for the citizens.
By majority decision, the controversial item was removed from the agenda, and a lengthy discussion ensued regarding the rules of procedure...
