Croatian Roads has selected Osijek-based Rencon to develop a project to reconstruct the DC58 state road through the settlement of Plano, thus beginning the preparation of one of the most important traffic reconstructions in the Trogir and Kaštela hinterland. The contract value is 86.875 euros, which is 37 percent less than the estimated value.
The residents of Plan have been troubled by the condition of this 3,3-kilometer section for years. The lanes are narrow, the asphalt is damaged, and pedestrians are left to their own devices. The route has numerous intersections, dangerous curves, and makeshift bus stops, which further increases the risk of accidents.
After the renovation, citizens will get a wider and safer roadway, improved sidewalks, renovated bus stops, new public lighting and clearly marked traffic signals. Special attention has been paid to the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, as well as to better traffic flow. The drainage system will also be solved and installations that pass under the road will be protected.

Savings of 40.000 euros
Rencon's offer proved to be the most economically advantageous among the six received, as we have already reported. писалиThe company offered a price of 69.500 euros excluding VAT, almost 40.000 euros less than the estimate of Croatian Roads. For comparison, the most expensive offer from Split-based Geoprojekt was 137.162 euros, which is almost twice as much.
The Croatian Roads Authority made the decision on December 1, and the appeal deadline expired ten days later. Rencon has 250 working days to prepare complete project documentation and obtain all necessary permits.
Only after the project documentation is complete will Hrvatske ceste be able to announce a new tender for the contractor. This means that the construction site could open at the end of next year at the earliest.
