Work on the drinking water purifier at the Jadra source will begin in early 2026
On December 10, Vodovod i kanalizacija doo Split officially obtained a building permit for the construction of a drinking water conditioning device from the source of the Jadro River, a key infrastructure project for the safe and high-quality water supply of our area.
This project represents an extremely important step for all citizens, because upon completion of the works, the water from Jadro will go through a conditioning and additional treatment system, which will ensure an even higher level of health safety and reliability of the water supply. This is a long-awaited project that will open a new chapter in the management of water resources and provide better quality services to citizens, VIK learned.
Work is expected to begin in mid-January 2026.
The construction permit has been issued by the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Property, which creates all the prerequisites for the start of works. The planned start of works is mid-January 2026, after the preparation of the terrain and the introduction of the contractors to the work.
From the signing of the contract in December 2024
The contract for the construction of this facility was signed at the end of 2024. Since then, the main project has been successfully developed, including all necessary preliminary work: geomechanical and archaeological surveys, geodetic measurements, and testing and recording of the existing main water supply channels.
As they say in VIK, the intervention has strategic significance for the development of water and utility infrastructure in the area of our city.
Completion of works in April 2027, handover in May 2028.
According to the contractor's current plan, the completion of construction works is scheduled for April 2027, followed by the contractually prescribed commissioning of the device for a period of 12 months, until April 2028. The handover of the system and the final settlement of the works are expected in May 2028, after the completion of the commissioning and obtaining the operating permit.
