The Electoral Assembly of the City Branch of the Association of Croatian Homeland War Volunteers of the City of Kaštela and Kaštela Hinterland was held in the Kaštela City Hall on Tuesday, December 9th, with the presence of members and guests.
Among the invited guests, the session was attended by Antonia Kljaić, Head of the Administrative Department for Social Activities and General Affairs of the City of Kaštela, Damir Gabrić, Head of the Administrative Department for Croatian Veterans, Civil Protection and Human Rights of the SDŽ, Ivan Skelin, Mayor of the Municipality of Prgomet, Joško Dujmović, Mayor of the Municipality of Primorski Dolac, Dragan Maretić, Vice President of the UHDDR – SREDIŠNJICA, Miljenko Modrić, President of the County Branch of the UHDDR SDŽ, as well as representatives of associations arising from the Homeland War from the area of the city of Kaštela.
The assembly began with the singing of the anthem of the Republic of Croatia and a minute of silence for all fallen, missing and deceased veterans, as well as for all Croatian martyrs throughout history and for the first Croatian president, Dr. Franjo Tuđman.
The session was opened by the Secretary of the Association, and after the election of the Working Presidency, the session was continued by the Chairman of the Working Presidency, Ivan Ćubelić.
After the first part of the session, in which the Reports were presented and accepted, and the changes to the Association's Statute were voted on, the election of new Association Bodies took place.
Frane Žegarac was elected president of the City of Kaštela and Kaštelanska Zagora Regional Administrative Organization. The following were elected members of the City Branch Committee: Ante Leko, Ivan Skelin, Josip Penić, Ivan Ćubelić, Goran Ban, Zoran Maslač, Branko Ergović, Ante Božić Bakušić, Ignacijo Vušković, Mijo Jadrić, Marko Ukić and Božo Ukić. The following were elected to the Supervisory Board: Ante Penić, president, and Mario Mišković and Ante Veljača, members.
Afterwards, the members of the Assembly were addressed by the guests, Antonija Kljaić, Dragan Maretić, Damir Gabrić and Mirko Sušac, on behalf of the Coordination of Associations Emerging from the Homeland War.
Then, the new president of the Association, Frane Žegarac, addressed the audience. He thanked all members of the Assembly for their election to this honorable, but also binding duty. He invited members to actively participate in the work of the Association. He also thanked all donors and sponsors, and especially the leadership of the city of Kaštela for the funds without which the Association would not be able to operate.
The assembly concluded with the performance of the UHDDR anthem, the aria "Uboj, u boj" from the opera "Nikola Šubić Zrinski" by Ivan Zajc.
