The pilot project to welcome St. Nicholas on the newly renovated promenade below Sokolana, led by a workshop on making traditional pine tree decorations at the GKK Sućurac, gathered a large number of parents and children at Sokolana in the morning. Food was sold at symbolic prices, and the proceeds went to humanitarian causes.
The event was attended by KPU Kampanel, GKK Kaštela, SAU Putalj, KOMa Kaštela, Veterani HNK Jadran Kaštel Sućurac, Torcida Sućurac fans' association, MK 'Uspomena' Dalmacija and the 'Sokolana' indoor football club, which provided a playground for the event. On a sunny morning, just after a workshop on making decorations, where people learned about the history and methods of making individual pine tree decorations, the waterfront was filled with laughter and music. The program was hosted by Marijana Vulas, while members of the associations and societies were in charge of providing refreshments and collecting donations.

On the way to Sokolana, a large number of locals had gathered even before the official start, to take advantage of the sunny, almost summer-like days. The children enjoyed dance numbers, recitations and a play in which Saint Nicholas and the mischievous Krampus were staged. After that, everyone rushed to the waterfront to welcome the main attraction - Saint Nicholas, who arrived by boat carrying sticks and gifts. He quickly got tired of handing out so many sticks, so he went with a large welcoming committee to the playground at Sokolana to sit down and continue handing out gifts and sticks.
Solidarity as a tradition of Sućurac
The program continued with dancing, music, food and drinks, and a collage-making program was also provided for all interested parties. The pilot project was held for the first time this year, with the desire to turn it into a traditional event and combine humanitarian work with an opportunity to socialize outdoors in the month of December, thus becoming another of the many Advent stories that take place in Kaštela during the days of Advent. Humanitarian actions are numerous and established practice in Sućurac, so an excellent response was expected, and such will certainly be the case next year.
