The members of HPD Malačka did not rest this weekend either - all sections were in action, and on several fronts. Saturday was spent in an ecological spirit, with the successful cleaning action in Kozjak, which we have already written about. Already on Sunday, the playfulness of the youngest and the exploratory spirit of the adult mountaineers came to the fore.
Little hikers on the "Following Filip Balić's Steps" trail
The children from the Little Mountaineers section, led by Ivan and Filip, walked along the "Footsteps of Filip Balić" trail. They completed the climb with a lot of energy and even more smiles, earning praise from everyone present. At the mountain lodge, the caretakers welcomed them with hot tea and pancakes, which delighted both the children and the guides.
During the walk, they learned the basics of orientation in nature, and upon arriving at the home, they tried making their own compasses and searching for hidden treasures. The guides say they enjoyed it just as much as the kids – if not more.
Grown up on the lesser-known trails of Kozjak
At the same time, the adult members of the society enjoyed a walk in the less visited parts of Kozjak, on the now traditional fourth trip to the Kaštela fields. The trip was led by an experienced guide Igor, known for turning even the most ordinary route into an unforgettable experience.
The route began at the church of St. George of Žestinje, with ideal weather and a clear atmosphere. They were accompanied by a dog team – Boni, Tara, Neli, Enzo and Jerko. After a short break under the fig trees, the hikers continued towards Trećanica, where they had a longer rest and took their first joint photo.
The wild and rarely visited part of Trećanica left the biggest impression, which, with a few climbs, descents and occasional searching for the right path, brought a lot of laughter and adventure. At Radinski grede, one of the most beautiful views of Kozjaka opened up – of Split, Trogir, Kaštela and the islands – ideal for another group photo.
One of the guides, Slaven, recounts that the journey to the church of St. Nofra went by quickly, and the arrival was rewarded with aperitifs, tea, beans and relaxation in the sun. Part of the team stayed to clean up, while the rest headed back - convinced that a short return trip awaited them. However, the "guides" Vjeko and Božana surprised the group with a "better and shorter" route that turned into an adventure through brambles and fences, to the general delight of all participants.
When they finally reached the road, Slaven concluded - the trip was wonderful without it, but with this ending it became perfect.
Another weekend to remember
HPD Malačka once again showed how much activity, togetherness and positive energy can be packed into one weekend. Thanks go to all the guides, the gastronomic team at Dule, the caretakers and of course – the big and small hikers and their four-legged companions.
It happened again!
