
The Split court sentenced three men to prison terms for possessing almost 40 kilograms of marijuana, and the verdict also marks an express epilogue. case from July 31st of this year when the police found the arrested in a field house in Kaštel Sućurac with drugs intended for sale.
As a reminder, police officers raided a field house in Kaštel Sućurac that three men were using for personal purposes. There, at around 4:30 p.m., they found a 30-year-old ship's engineer, a 30-year-old driver, and a 26-year-old ship's mechanic with 40 packages of marijuana. The total weight of the drugs was 39,4 kilograms.
During the investigation, it was determined that the three had obtained the drugs from unknown persons and kept them in a house that was not their property. All three admitted that they intended to sell the drugs and make money that way. They were arrested immediately and have been in custody ever since.
In early November, they reached an agreement with the state attorney's office, which allowed for an express verdict. The ship's engineer received two years and six months in prison and a fine of 40.000 euros. The driver was sentenced to the most severe sentence of two years and ten months and a fine of 30.000 euros. The youngest of them received two years in prison and a fine of 20.000 euros.
All of them had their previous suspended sentences revoked. The ship's engineer from 2021, the driver from 2024, and the ship's mechanic from 2023. This made the final sentences more severe. In addition to prison and fines, they must also pay court costs of almost 3.700 euros.
