The Kaštela City Library has prepared a diverse and warm Advent program this December, which will bring all seven Kaštela towns to life in the first week, from December 1 to 6. Readings of Christmas stories, creative workshops, exhibitions, meetings with Saint Nicholas and small literary challenges are just some of the content that the GKK offers to its youngest and older visitors.
KASTEL SUĆURAC
"Advent and Christmas Story at GKK" will begin in the GKK branch in Sućurac on Monday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. with a joint reading of Christmas stories. The program continues on Thursday, December 4 at 7 p.m. with the exhibition "Croatian Kings through the Eyes of Artists", when the Kaštela City Library will open the exhibition of the Emanuel Vidović Split Art Association in the Archbishop's Castle.
On Saturday, December 6th at 10:00 a.m., the Sućurac branch of the GKK will hold a workshop on making vintage Christmas decorations, while at 11:00 a.m., the GKK Drama Group will perform the plays "Saint Nicholas and Krampus" and "If Saint Nicholas Were Late" on the occasion of the arrival of Saint Nicholas at Sokolan. Although in previous years the Kaštela City Library has organized the arrival of Saint Nicholas at the Sućurac branch of the GKK, this year the GKK is joining Sućurac associations with whom the arrival of Saint Nicholas at Sokolan in Sućurac will be jointly organized, with a rich program for all generations, and the Kaštela City Library will contribute by performing a drama program.
CASTLE OF GOMILICA
The youngest in Gomilica will be able to attend the "Eager Boot" reading room on Monday, December 1st at 5:30 p.m., while on Tuesday, December 2nd at the same time, everyone interested will be able to participate in a creative workshop called "Christmas Snowman".
KAŠTEL STARI
In Kaštel Stari, Advent week begins with the reading of Christmas stories on Monday at 5:30 pm. On Wednesday, December 3, at the same time, a creative workshop "Letter to Saint Nicholas" will be held, and on Friday, December 5, children can try their hand at the workshop "Chess is a sports game too."
KASTEL NOVI
The Advent program in Kaštel Novi, in the adult section, begins with the exhibition "Christmas in Books" on Monday, December 1st at 19 p.m. On Tuesday at the same time, the "Christmas Challenge - Guess a Quote from a Book and Win a Prize" will take place - a fun and stimulating activity in which competitors will have to guess a quote or verse from a book or the title and author of a book or poem that mentions Christmas.
KAMBELOVAC CASTLE AND LUKŠIĆ CASTLE
The GKK departments in Kaštel Kambelovac and Kaštel Lukšić are currently temporarily closed due to an audit and will not participate in the first week of this year's "Advent and Christmas Stories at GKK".
With these diverse events, the Kaštela City Library reaffirms its important cultural and social role in the community. Programs for all ages create a festive atmosphere and encourage creativity, socializing, and a love of books.
