Despite the weather conditions, nothing stopped lovers of klapa music from coming to the Cultural Center in Kaštel Lukšić last night and truly enjoying the concert of the Kaštel klapa Kampaneli for twenty years of fellowship, dedicated work, and nurturing tradition in love for klapa music.
Ahead of the concert, the group's spokesperson Ante Jurić told us:
- We are happy that we managed to organize such a beautiful concert for our twentieth birthday and that quite a few people came to listen to us, some from quite a distance, we even had guests, our dear three klapa groups: the female klapa Stivanja from Trogir and Kurjože from Podstrana and our friends, the male klapa Krunik from Kučin. We hope that the evening will be enjoyable for everyone.
As for the repertoire for tonight, we've made a selection through our program from the last, say, 20 years. There's everything, new and old stuff, folk, klapa, covers, there's everything. Those who are here are lucky to have the opportunity to hear it.
The members of the klapa are: leader of the klapa and first voice Mira Đukić Milašević, Mate Duišin second tenor, Ante Vulas and Ivan Morača baritone, Roko Radovenjić and Ante Jurić bass...
The program was hosted by Edita Lučić Jelić, and in her casual style, with plenty of humor and an intimate atmosphere, she made the audience laugh and at the same time blend in with the performers, in their top-notch performances, making everyone feel like one big family.
She summed up everything important in the opening sentence: ''The story of Kampaneli, as you know, has been going on for 20 years, a story about love for the Dalmatian alphabet, about preserving native songs and about the friendship that grew out of voices that came together out of pure love for music... From the very beginnings back in 2005, until today, Kampaneli have remained true to themselves, their original songs, tradition, the beauty of Dalmatian poetry and the sincere emotion that you can feel in each of their letters...
Over the past 20 years, they have won over both the audience and the expert juries. They have performed at the Omiš festival 18 times, winning five golden shields, two absolute victories in the mixed klapa category, and even the Porin award for the album ''Sva ti duša u me stala''.
To the delight of the audience, the melodious compositions of the celebratory Klapa Kampaneli and the guest klapas were performed, demonstrating their excellence and interesting selection of songs. Towards the end of the concert, the participants exchanged gifts and, with jokes emphasized by the host Edita, made the audience laugh a lot, and although she is difficult to speak, the self-restrained leader of the klapa, Mira Đukić Milašević, said:
- I don't like to talk much, but I feel the need to thank our sound engineer Najan for accompanying us on all our performances, and our families who we have driven over the edge with our rehearsals and nagging, and these wonderful guys who follow me closely and listen, and that's why we achieved these results...
- I don't know what to say. There were many ups and downs, there were hard days, there was everything, but we persevered and reached our twentieth anniversary, said the president of the klapa, Marija Duišin.
Finally, thanks to the sponsors who supported this concert: Split-Dalmatia County, City of Kaštela, Marina Kaštela, Skejo Butchery, Mrki Butchery, Cvitković Stonemasonry Shop, Brešković Post Office, Panini Bakery, Monika's Wine Bar and Šareni cvit Flower Shop.
