The Citizens' Association "Save Kozjak and Kaštela" expresses its support for the Citizens' Initiative "Green Kozjak" and the associations of the City of Kaštela in the fight against the project to build a solar power plant on Kozjak, says a letter sent to our editorial office by the Board of the Citizens' Association "Save Kozjak and Kaštela", which we are reprinting in full.
- Kozjak is an area of natural, cultural and landscape value - the last great natural stronghold of Kaštela, which represents an invaluable part of our heritage and identity.
In addition to the already existing devastation of Kozjak and the entire area - the construction of the Kozjak tunnel, planned access roads and other industrial and infrastructure projects that permanently damage the natural environment, cultural heritage and traditional agriculture, as one of the last blows, the construction of a solar power plant in the area of Biranjština is planned.
We are opposed to this unsustainable management of this, for the inhabitants of Kaštela, valuable area and we invite the competent institutions and the professional public to contribute to the preservation of Kozjak and the protection of its values.
The Citizens' Association Save Kozjak and Kaštela invites its members and other citizens of Kaštela to join in signing the petition for the preservation of Kozjak, against the construction of the Kozjak solar power plant, and to personally contribute to the preservation and improvement of the key natural resources of our city!
Kozjak is our shared responsibility and let's preserve it together! - the letter states.
