The Little Prince City Theatre from Omiš presented a magical performance of “Stribor's Forest”, a fairy tale from everyone's favorite collection “Tales of Long Ago” by Ivana Brlić Mažuranić, at the Kaštela Cultural Centre. The free performance filled the Centre, in yet another in a series of activities for the Cultural Centre's Open Doors Day.
Let us recall that there is a viper in the Stribor Forest (Danica Katunaric) which is cursed, but is freed before its time when a naive young man (Mate Tavric) and immediately falls in love with her. The newlyweds hastily marry and come face to face with the young man's grandmother (Gordana Kapic) who is initially kind and happy, but her daughter-in-law's malice quickly sways her. The daughter-in-law begins sending her grandmother on increasingly dangerous tasks, while the young man is completely intoxicated with love and does not see what is happening.
Since Stribor's Forest is magical, the grandmother is helped along the way by forest creatures - the Domači, a random passerby, forest animals, because everyone sees her misfortune and injustice. The son almost believes her after the daughter-in-law shows her true colors when she sees the magpie eggs that she cannot resist, but even that was not enough to fend off the viper's charms. The grandmother escapes into the cold forest and asks for the help of the Domači. Malik Tintilinić is the only one who finds a solution - he directs her to the powerful and wise Stribor (Marijan Grbavac) ...
This wonderfully costumed and performed play is signed by him Petar Buljevic. She is responsible for the set design, costume design and visual design. Zorica Musa. The costumes were designed by Iris Marušić. In addition to the main roles, we saw Ana Vidosevic, Sanja Pandža, Milena Sebeledi and Cvita Dobrota as the good girl who finally rounds off the instructive and timeless fairy tale with a happy ending. The relatively new play had its preview in late spring in Omiš, and has since been performed several times in various theaters and centers, including Split and yesterday's guest appearance in Kaštel Lukšić.
