The 17th mountain race "In memoriam Ivica Radeljić" took place on Kozjak this Saturday, a traditional competition that brings together an increasing number of mountain running enthusiasts every year.
About twenty runners set off from the waterfront in Kaštel Sućurac towards the finish line at Sveti Luka on Kozjak, along a path about eight kilometers long, which connects the sea coast with a mountain peak and offers one of the most beautiful, but also most demanding views of the Kaštelan Bay.
Among the participants were the best Croatian trail runners, including Marin Koceić and sisters Nikolina Šustić Stanković and Nataša Šustić, known for their successes in domestic and international ultramarathons.
The fastest finisher was Luka Rajčević, who completed the demanding course in 45:53 minutes. Marin Koceić arrived less than three minutes later, and the unstoppable Šustić sisters, who once again confirmed their exceptional form, also crossed the finish line in 49:54.
The race organizer, the Solin Athletic Club, points out that interest in this race is constantly growing. Due to its successful organization and long-standing tradition, the club has received an offer to host the national mountain running championship next year, which they say they will proudly accept.
The safety of all participants was monitored by the Croatian Sports and Recreation Service, which did not have any interventions this time - another proof of good preparation and sports discipline of all participants.
