PULJAK AND TOMAŠEVIĆ LEAD IN SPLIT AND ZAGREB
At 7 p.m., the polls closed for today's second round of local elections. By 8:40 p.m., 67,38 percent of polling stations in the Split-Dalmatia County elections for county prefect had been processed, and HDZ candidate Blaženko Boban, who will apparently once again be the first man in the Split-Dalmatia County, is in a significant lead.

According to information from the State Election Commission, 29,18 percent of the electorate in Croatia had voted by 4:30 p.m., 28,85 percent in the Split-Dalmatia County, and 12,44 percent of citizens with the right to vote in Kaštela.

By 11:30 a.m., 14,09 percent of the total number of voters who voted today had gone to the polls in the second round of local elections in Croatia. In Kaštela, the turnout by 11:30 a.m. was only 6,03 percent.

This morning at seven o'clock, polling stations opened across Croatia, where Croatian citizens will, in the second round of local elections, elect mayors, heads and county prefects in local governments, where this was not done two weeks ago in the first round of elections.

KAŠTELA PARTICIPATE IN THE ELECTION OF THE COUNTY PREFECTURER
This Sunday, May 30, the second round of local elections will be held in 432 cities and municipalities, or 5.496 polling stations in Croatia, in which citizens with the right to vote will elect 87 municipal heads, 56 mayors, 14 county governors and the mayor of Zagreb. Although they elected the mayor in the first round, the people of Kaštela will also go to the polls and have the opportunity to vote for the county governor of Split-Dalmatia County in the next four-year term.

The city organization of HDZ Kaštela, headed by president Ivan Udovicič and mayor Denis Ivanović, invited the citizens to vote for the current prefect Blaženko Boban and his deputies in the second round of local elections.

Although the first man of the city was elected in the first round of these local elections, the people of Kaštela are facing a second round, in which they will choose the person who will lead the Split-Dalmatia County in the next term. Together with other cities and municipalities in the county, they will decide on this on Statehood Day, May 30. And in the race for the county prefect of Split-Dalmatia County in the second round, the HDZ candidate and current prefect Blaženko Boban and the SDP member Ranko Ostojić will compete.

HDZ WINNER OF LOCAL ELECTIONS
According to the first unofficial results, HDZ is the winner of the local elections in Kaštela. For the next four years, the city will continue to be led by Denis Ivanović, who defeated his opponents Nikša Tranfić and Draško Kuliš with 57.17% of the votes. Tranfić received the trust of 24.68%, and Kuliš 12.63% of the votes of Kaštela voters.

Polling stations across Croatia closed their doors at 19 p.m., after which members of the polling stations began an extensive vote counting process, and the results from all polling stations are being sent to the city and election commissions. From the latest voter turnout data up to 4:30 p.m., one could conclude that the people of Kaštela are not interested in local elections or like to do everything at the last minute. Namely, in Kaštela, it was recorded that 24,34 percent of voters went to the polls by the stated time, which is the lowest percentage in the Split-Dalmatia County and far lower than the average in Croatia.

The turnout in the first part of this election week was not particularly high, and among those who had fulfilled their civic duty by noon and exercised their right to elect local government in the next term were all three candidates for mayor of Kaštela, Denis Ivanović, Draško Kuliš and Nikša Tranfić, and almost all the holders of the candidate lists also voted.

According to a report by the State Election Commission, 15,47 percent of eligible voters had turned out to the polls in Croatia by 11:30 a.m., while in Kaštela, turnout was far lower than the Croatian average and amounted to 10,80 percent.

FIRST DATA ON THE RESPONSE AT NOON
This morning at 7 am, polling stations opened in more than 55 cities and municipalities in 20 Croatian counties and the City of Zagreb, where citizens with the right to vote, until 19 pm today, will elect members of the representative bodies of their local governments, as well as county prefects, mayors and chiefs and their deputies.

Election silence begins tonight at midnight, and will last until the polls close on Sunday at 19 p.m. During this time, it is prohibited to publicly present election programs, persuade voters in any way to vote for a particular list or candidate, as well as publish estimates of election results, and the like.
